CPU generation

Intel 11th Gen (Tiger Lake / Rocket Lake) mini PCs

11th gen is where Intel's media engine gained AV1 hardware decode (Gen 12 Xe graphics), along with HEVC 12-bit decode. Tiger Lake laptop-class chips, often with Iris Xe graphics, power NUC-style boxes such as Beelink's SEi11 Pro, and Rocket Lake added 35 W desktop T-series chips such as the Core i5-11500T. Iris Xe is also notably faster for Frigate's OpenVINO detector: Frigate lists about 10 ms per MobileNetV2 inference, versus about 15 ms for the older HD 630. Windows 11 is supported. If a media server may need to decode AV1 sources in hardware, 11th gen is the oldest Intel generation to consider.
