AMD Ryzen 7040 / 8040 (Phoenix / Hawk Point) mini PCs

Phoenix, which reached systems in 2023, and its December 2023 refresh Hawk Point are AMD's Zen 4 mobile APUs. They power mini PCs such as Minisforum's UM790 Pro (Ryzen 9 7940HS) and GMKtec's K8 Plus (Ryzen 7 8845HS). The Radeon 780M iGPU, the VCN 4.0 media engine with AV1 encode, and two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots on boxes like these (Minisforum lists 64 GB for the UM790 Pro, GMKtec 128 GB for the K8 Plus) make them flexible homelab and desktop machines. Don't buy for the NPU: Frigate's OpenVINO NPU support requires an Intel platform. Some designs use soldered LPDDR5X, so check.
