Dell OptiPlex 7090 Micro

The OptiPlex 7090 Micro (2021) moves to Intel's Q570 chipset and takes both 10th-gen Comet Lake and 11th-gen Rocket Lake processors, as 35 W T-series chips or 65 W desktop parts up to the Core i9-11900. It is not a Tiger Lake/Iris Xe machine: graphics are Intel UHD 630 or UHD 750 depending on the CPU. Dell specifies two DDR4 SO-DIMMs up to 64 GB (up to 3200 MHz depending on CPU), two M.2 NVMe slots (one 2230/2280, one 2280), a 2.5-inch bay, an Intel I219-LM NIC with AMT, and a front 20 Gbps USB-C port. ServeTheHome measured 12-14 W idle and just over 60 W peak on a Core i5-10500T unit with the 90 W adapter. Because listings mix both CPU generations under one name, confirm which you are getting.

Which one to buy

Oct 4, 2026

121 OptiPlex 7090 Micros are listed, and most complete units sell for about $250–360 delivered, though a 10th-gen i5-10500T with 16 GB and an SSD starts at about $210. Check the generation: 10th-gen (i5-10500T, i7-10700T) and 11th-gen (i5-11500T, i7-11700T) units share the name, and 11th gen is the better pick at similar money. Match the adapter to the CPU: T-series chips use Dell's 90 W or 130 W adapter, while 65 W non-T chips need the 180 W adapter with the 7.4 mm barrel. Titles reading 'up to 64GB RAM & 2TB SSD' are configure-to-order base prices, not 64 GB units.
