Dell OptiPlex 7080 Micro

The OptiPlex 7080 Micro (2020) is the 10th-gen top tier: Intel Q470 chipset, an Intel I219-LM NIC with AMT, and processors from the Core i3-10100T up to the ten-core Core i9-10900T, plus 65 W desktop chips up to the Core i9-10900. It is the first Dell Micro in this list with two M.2 NVMe slots (one 2230/2280, one 2280) alongside a 2.5-inch bay, and Dell rates it for 64 GB of DDR4. The rear has two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs and an optional VGA/DP/HDMI/USB-C module, and a rare discrete-graphics build uses a PCIe slot instead. ServeTheHome measured about 11 W idle and just over 60 W peak on a 35 W Core i5-10500T, which is why Dell moved to a 90 W adapter. A capable eight- or ten-core homelab node with real remote management.

Buying guide

Which one to buy

Oct 4, 2026

131 OptiPlex 7080 Micros are listed, and most complete units run $230–320 delivered, with an i5-10500T, 16 GB and a 256 GB SSD at about $260–280. The adapter matters most on this model: T-series chips use a 90 W or 130 W adapter with a 4.5 mm barrel, but 65 W chips like the i5-10500 and i7-10700 need Dell's 180 W adapter with the larger 7.4 mm barrel, so an older Dell brick won't do. Skip titles copied across several sellers, and read 'up to 64GB' listings as base-config prices.
