Lenovo ThinkCentre M920x Tiny

The M920x is the top 8th/9th-gen Tiny and the hardest to find. Compared with the M920q it adds a second M.2 NVMe slot, a 135 W adapter, and CPU options that include 65 W desktop chips such as the Core i5-8500, i5-9500 and i7-8700 alongside the usual T-series parts. Lenovo also offered an AMD Radeon RX 560 4 GB with four mini DisplayPorts, mounted on the PCIe x8 riser where the 2.5-inch drive would normally go. ServeTheHome measured 29 to 34 W idle with that GPU fitted, so a GPU-less unit is the better pick for an always-on server. It keeps the I219-LM NIC and AMT, two SO-DIMM slots (32 GB official, 64 GB tested by STH), and the same Tiny footprint.

Which one to buy

Oct 4, 2026

Only 44 M920x listings are active, and most complete units sell for about $250–340 delivered. Its draw over the M920q is the second NVMe slot and support for 65 W desktop CPUs like the i7-8700, but it needs Lenovo's 135 W adapter, so make sure that's included. Several munimetal listings say only 'i5-8th' with no model number, and easten1973 is running a batch of near-identical i7-8700 auctions that will finish well above their current bids. Confirm the bottom label or BIOS says M920x, since M920q units are sometimes mislabeled.
