Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny

The M720q is the B360-chipset Tiny for 8th- and 9th-gen Intel T-series CPUs, from Celeron and Pentium up to the six-core i5 and i7 and the eight-core i9-9900T. Homelab buyers like it for one feature most 1-liter PCs lack: a low-profile PCIe 3.0 x8 slot (with Lenovo's riser) that can hold a quad-port NIC or another low-profile card. The card takes the place of the 2.5-inch drive, so you choose one or the other. Otherwise it has two SO-DIMM slots (32 GB official), one M.2 NVMe slot, one Intel I219-V gigabit port, HDMI plus DisplayPort, and two 10 Gbps USB-A ports on the back. There is no vPro. Its 8th- and 9th-gen CPUs are on Microsoft's Windows 11 list.

Check before you buy

General off-lease checks (BIOS passwords, Computrace, missing drive caddies) are in the used mini PC buying checklist.

Buying guide

Which one to buy

Oct 4, 2026

280 M720q listings are active, and most complete units sell for about $110–180 delivered. The six-core i5-8400T and i5-8500T are the sweet spot; prioritize 8 GB or more, an SSD and the right Lenovo adapter (65 W, 90 W or 135 W depending on configuration), because many off-lease units, including several lakemichigancomputers listings, ship with no adapter, drive or OS. Treat 'Win 11 Pro' in a title as a claim and confirm the license is activated, and check you can get into the BIOS, since off-lease units can arrive with a supervisor password set.
