Lenovo

Lenovo ThinkCentre M920q Tiny

The M920q is the M720q's Q370-chipset sibling: same chassis, same 8th/9th-gen T-series CPUs up to the i9-9900T, same low-profile PCIe 3.0 x8 slot (in place of the 2.5-inch drive). The differences are an Intel I219-LM network chip and Intel AMT 12.0 on vPro configurations, plus a Thunderbolt 3 add-in card option. Lenovo's official memory ceiling is 32 GB, but ServeTheHome ran 64 GB (2x 32 GB) without trouble. Storage is one M.2 NVMe slot plus the 2.5-inch bay; it does not have a second SSD slot (that is the M920x). Choose it over the M720q when you want AMT remote management on a homelab node or a quad-port NIC in the slot.

Check before you buy

General off-lease checks (BIOS passwords, Computrace, missing drive caddies) are in the used mini PC buying checklist.

Buying guide

Which one to buy

Oct 4, 2026

163 M920q listings are active, and most complete units sell for about $170–240 delivered. The six-core i5-8500T and i7-8700T are the common configs; prioritize 16 GB, an NVMe SSD and a 90 W adapter, since ServeTheHome saw a six-core unit throttle on a 65 W one. If you want Intel AMT, check for a vPro CPU and ask that the BIOS and MEBx passwords are cleared. Treat 'Windows 11' in a title as a claim and confirm an activated license.
