Dell OptiPlex 3070 Micro

The OptiPlex 3070 Micro (2019) is Dell's entry Micro for 9th-gen Coffee Lake Refresh, and it also accepts 8th-gen chips. In the Micro chassis it runs 35 W T-series processors from Celeron up to the eight-core Core i7-9700T on an Intel H370 chipset, so there is no vPro. Dell lists two DDR4-2666 SO-DIMM slots (32 GB max), one M.2 slot for SATA or NVMe SSDs, a 2.5-inch bay, a Realtek RTL8111HSD gigabit NIC and a 65 W adapter. Video is DisplayPort 1.2 plus HDMI 1.4, with an optional VGA/DP/HDMI 2.0b port and optional serial. ServeTheHome measured just over 10 W idle and about 40 W under load on a Core i3-9100T unit. It is a sensible low-power home server. Pick the 7070 Micro if you want Intel AMT or an Intel NIC.

Buying guide

Which one to buy

Oct 4, 2026

235 OptiPlex 3070 Micros are listed, and most complete units run $120–180 delivered, with an i5-9500T, 8 GB and a 256 GB SSD available for about $130. Prioritise a named CPU (this model shipped with anything from a Celeron to an i7-9700T), a stated SSD, ideally NVMe, and the 65 W Dell adapter, which few titles mention. Treat 'Win 11 Pro' in a title as a claim and confirm the licence is activated. Skip the zero-feedback seller and any title whose CPU doesn't exist, such as an 'i5-900T'.
