HP ProDesk 400 G6 Desktop Mini

The ProDesk 400 G6 Desktop Mini is HP's entry-level 10th-gen (Comet Lake) 1-liter PC, sold alongside the ProDesk 600 G6 and EliteDesk 800 G6. Used units usually carry 35 W T-series chips like the Core i5-10500T, so you get six Hyper-Threaded cores in the same small chassis. It's the cheaper branch of the family: secondary sources list a single M.2 NVMe slot plus a 2.5-inch bay rather than the 600/800 G6's two M.2 slots, and STH found HP's 2.5 GbE Flex IO module doesn't work in it. That makes it a fine Home Assistant, Pi-hole or light Docker box, but if you want dual NVMe, Intel AMT or a 2.5 GbE upgrade, look at the 600 G6 or 800 G6 instead.

Check before you buy

General off-lease checks (BIOS passwords, Computrace, missing drive caddies) are in the used mini PC buying checklist.

Buying guide

Which one to buy

Oct 4, 2026

54 ProDesk 400 G6 Minis are listed, and most complete units run $200–340 delivered, with an i5-10500T, 8 GB, a 256 GB SSD, Windows and the adapter from about $190. It's the lower-tier G6 with one NVMe slot, and HP's 2.5 GbE Flex IO module didn't work in one when ServeTheHome tried it, so treat it as a 1 GbE box. Get the exact CPU from the title, confirm there's no BIOS password, and skip copied titles from several sellers and asks near double the median.
