Dell OptiPlex 5060 Micro

The OptiPlex 5060 Micro is the mid-tier 8th-gen Dell Micro, built on Intel's Q370 chipset with 35 W T-series processors from Pentium Gold up to the six-core, twelve-thread Core i7-8700T. Dell specifies two DDR4-2666 SO-DIMMs (32 GB max), one M.2 2280 slot for SATA or NVMe SSDs, a 2.5-inch SATA bay and a 90 W adapter. The wired NIC is an Intel I219-V. Dell's documentation does not list the I219-LM that Intel AMT needs, so treat the 5060 as a non-vPro machine even though it shares the 7060's chipset. In practice it sits between the 3060 (Realtek NIC, 65 W adapter) and the 7060 (I219-LM, AMT, optional 65 W CPUs). It is a good fit for a six-core Proxmox, Docker or media-server box where an Intel NIC is preferred and remote management is not needed.

Which one to buy

Oct 4, 2026

158 OptiPlex 5060 Micros are listed and asks are spread wide, about $120–320 delivered, but a complete i5-8500T with 8 GB and an SSD starts at about $139. Prioritize a named six-core i5-8500T or i5-8600T and check that Dell's 90 W adapter is included: a 65 W brick from an older Micro is the wrong part. Many cheap units ship without a drive or OS, and swingcomputers asks two to three times the market for similar configs. If you need Intel AMT, look at the 7060 Micro instead, since the 5060's I219-V NIC doesn't support it.
